In 2006 Gary Kirsten, Paddy Upton and I teamed up to combine the very best skills and thinking from our diverse experiences over the past 20 years in business, sport and coaching.
We have worked with companies, sports teams, players associations, national and provincial sporting franchises and individuals who, irrespective of their current level of achievement, want to improve their performance. Our backgrounds have lead us to have one thing in common, a passion to make you the best at your game - whether that’s sport, business or life.
Currently Paddy and Gary are in India contracted to the Indian National Cricket team, doing the same work that Performance Zone has become known for.

I have over the years, in my own business, when working for Standard Chartered Bank and in the various engagements I have done with businesses great and small found that there is a gap when it comes to the tools that are needed to manage the people side of the business. Deciding who you want to recruit, defining the job, managing interviews, selecting and onboarding people is a both a science and art. It requires simple structures to make it all work.
Once people are in the organisation, engaging and motivating them and ensuring that they get honest feedback so that their performance can improve are critical functions of anybody leading and managing people. StarTools are a collection of 40 tools that cover all aspects of managing people.

connecteddale.com
connecteddale.com is my my business. A Flea Enterprise as Charles Handy would describe it. This is where I invest most of my time and creativity. My very first boss when I worked as a computer programmer used to say that the company is just a vehicle and we should use it to get from A to B. connecteddale.com is my vehicle.
It is a web site, an identity, a place to hold my thoughts, my projects and my writing. It is a place to connect with me and a place for me to communicate with the world. It contains links to my partners, my other business interests (below) and the people with whom I work.

Other investments
I have an interest in both private and public companies which fit my investment approach of:
- Companies with potential for growth, ideally significant
- Industries that are supportive of human development
- Business outlooks that exceed the next five years
